Basic Human Needs and Supporting your Loved Ones with Dementia

I’ve been quiet the past few days. I’m working through a few issues with myself, with my parents and with my siblings.

My parents are very unhappy about losing their cars. However, we know that had my brothers not come and disabled the cars and taken the keys, my parents would continue to drive without a license and with no insurance. It was a safety issue for them and the others on the streets.

We need to make a tweak to how we are handling the situation. My sense is that my parents sense of self is wounded.

I came across this summary of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Basic Human Needs and am sharing it today.

I know the right solution is within reach. Unbalanced.
